Our History
Winding Streams is a working family dairy farm with, in their words, “deep roots and even deeper love” for the land and animals in their care. The family — a husband and wife and their six children — raise puppies alongside the farm.
Their journey with dogs began in the hardest season of their lives. After the loss of their five-month-old child, they brought home a puppy. As they tell it, “that little pup helped mend our hearts in ways we didn’t expect — and opened a door to something beautiful.”
There is a second story they share too. One of their sons lives with spina bifida, and he has a calm, quiet way about him. The dogs seem to respond in kind. When the puppies get loud, it can be hard for him — and somehow, the family says, the dogs always seem to sense it and settle down.
We share these because the family shares them openly on their own site, and because they explain something a list of breeds never could: this family knows first-hand what a dog can do for a person who is hurting.
How Their Puppies Are Raised
Winding Streams raises a wider range than most — German Shepherds, Goldendoodles, Maltipoos, Miniature Poodles, Poodles and Bernese Mountain Dogs — all on the farm in Paradise.
Every puppy is health-checked with regular veterinary care and comes from DNA-tested parents, selected to reduce the risk of hereditary conditions.
