What to expect from a breeder on this page
Every family listed here has agreed to the same things:
Health testing on the parent dogs, appropriate to the breed, with results you can ask to see.
Puppies raised in the home rather than a kennel building, handled daily by the family.
Straight answers. If a breed is wrong for your household, they should say so — even when it costs them a sale.
They stay reachable. A good breeder expects to hear from you years later, not just on pickup day.
It is fair to ask a breeder to show you any of this. Anyone who is uncomfortable answering is telling you something useful.
Visiting a breeder in Pennsylvania
Most of the Pennsylvania breeders are within about an hour of Lancaster, so it is realistic to see more than one family in a day. We would encourage that. Meeting the mother dog and seeing where a puppy has spent its first weeks tells you more than any website can.
